Making Progress and Living A Life

I'm making more progress on my project, but life slowed me down this week

I didn't make my 10 hour commitment for this week and that's okay. I was only able to put in 5.5 hours, because life got it in the way this time around. I worked on my project 4 days out of the week, because my whole weekend was pretty much dedicated to Father's Day and running errands. That's not a bad thing, that's life.

Progress

I refined the user sign up page a little more by allowing users to choose a user name for themselves. I also added email verifications for when a user signs up. Sprinkle in some redirects and styling here and there and I'm done with the user signup flow for now. I always forget how these little things add up and can really take time away from building the core functionality of a product. Then again, it's these finer details that make a product stand out from others. At the moment, I just want to build something decent, not amazing. I'll focus on that later.

I started focusing on the core of my web app, which is creating listings. This will more than likely go through a few iterations, but at the moment I have a plan to move forward.

Life

I'm a father and have family that I care about, so that's where all my time went this past weekend. It made for a nice, but busy weekend. I've convinced myself that this period of my life will be the busiest, so if I can steadily chip away at my project within the guidelines I've defined, then I'll be happy doing it. It may take me a while, but I'm fine with that.
