My Wife

I have never talked about the strongest asset I have in my journey towards creating the greatest app known to mankind, but now I will.

I'm still trying to add users to my to my site, even though I got the whole Facebook part figured out. I just need to make it all work with my app. As I started to integrate it into my app, I wanted to make it look nicer, but then came across an issue that suggested I should upgrade to the latest PrimeNG version. So, I got that out of the way and upgraded, but then I decided to fix my top menu. The top menu is more design than it is programming, depending on who you talk to. Either way, the app will look nicer, but it didn't help finish the user creation part. I swear I'll get it done this week, I promise! The stars are aligning, I can see it now.

Life

I have to say, most of the time I'm writing about my life, I'm really writing about my weekend, because I can't remember more than a couple of days ago. The weekdays usually stay the same. The weekends can change in a variety of ways and are generally more memorable. Of course, when someone asks me what I did on the weekend, I blank out.

My wife made this past weekend a great weekend.

More importantly, my wife is big contributor of any success that I have. She pushes me to do things I normally don't do. One thing, she has taught me to do, is how to be a good host. I never really consider that people might be hungry when they arrive at our place, so now I've learned that I should always have snacks available, whenever anyone is coming, just in case. I didn't think about these things, but now I do.

When I'm unsure about a direction I'm heading in, whether it be career or personal, she'll always reassure me that I'm making the right decision or that I'll succeed. Sometimes, she doesn't even need to know details about what it is that I'm moving towards, but she believes I'll succeed.

She puts up with me when I'm in not a great mood and will pull things out of me and make me talk about them. My general strategy is to resolve it by myself through introspection. When she pull it out of me, this speeds up the process a bit and makes everyone happier, sooner.

Finally, she makes me consider the smaller things in life like eating out at a restaurant or going out for ice cream, which make life more enjoyable, especially when you have kids. Going for walks around the neighbourhood, is also something I don't normally consider, but is very healthy and enjoyable for everyone involved.

I don't like saying corny things, but sometimes I have to. My wife makes me a better person. We make a great team and I realized that this weekend more than ever.

I think we both made a good deal when we signed that marriage contract. Me especially, because the eggs I get from the chickens are so tasty and the milk I get from the goats are to die for. I wouldn't have that if I didn't marry her.

Also, as my daughter would say, "Happy Canada Fish Day!"
